Balázs Sarkadi

Balázs Sarkadi, MD, PhD, DSc spent several years as a post-doc and then as a visiting scientist at major universities in the United States and Canada. He is research professor at Semmelweis University, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, past president of FEBS, member of several international research societies including the Academia Europeae. His research has been focusing on membrane proteins, including the investigation of ABC membrane transporters, which play a major role in the multidrug resistance of cancer, in general pharmacology, and in stem cell function. His recent work is related to transporter regulation in pluripotent stem cells and in stem-cell derived differentiated tissues, as well as the medical application of stem cells. He has published more than 300 papers in international scientific journals, with a citation number over 16,000 and an h-index of 67. He has several international patents already in commercial applications

Edit Buzás

FOUNDER

Edit Buzás, MD, PhD, DSc is a professor and the head of the Department of Medical Genetics, Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. She received her medical degree from the University of Szeged in 1983 and her PhD degree in immunology in 1996 (University of Debrecen).
Prof. Buzás’ research focuses on the structure and the role of extracellular vesicles in the pathogenesis of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, as well as in cancer. She has published over 200 scientific papers and has given numerous invited talks at international conferences. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles. She serves as the President of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles and the Hungarian Society for Immunology. Prof. Buzás has received several awards for her scientific contributions, including the  Carol Nachman Prize for Rheumatology (1995), the L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Hungary Award (2011), the Széchenyi Award (2019) and the Special Achievement Award of ISEV (2020). She is also a Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Member of the Academia Europaea.

András Falus

András Falus, PhD, DSc, Professor emeritus of Immunology and Genetics at Dept Genetics, Cell and Immunobiology, Semmelweis University, Budapest. As postdoc he was working in Odense (Denmark, 1 year), Harvard University (Boston, USA, 2 years), Osaka University (Japan, 1 year). 

Member of Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Academia Europeae. Former President of Hungarian Society of Immunology. Founder of Hungarian Biobanking system. Member of Henry Kunkel Society of Rockefeller University, NY. Founder Editor of Immunome Research, former board member of Autoimmunity, Inflammation Research and Cellular Molecular Life Sciences, International Immunology. Research Interest: immunogenomics, epigenetics, microbiome, histamine biology,  systems biology, artificial intelligence. One international patents in histamine research topic.
Publication activity: peer reviewed journal articles: 425, books: 8, book chapters: 23. Total citations: ~ 18.000, H-index : ~ 50 (Scopus).

Judit Moldvay

FOUNDER

Judit Moldvay, MD, DSc is a head of the I st Department of Pulmonology in the National Korányi Institute of Pulmonology in Budapest, which played a leading role in COVID care in Hungary. She is a specialist in pathology, pulmonology, and clinical oncology, and obtained a European Diploma in Pulmonary Medicine, and a Diploma in Healthcare Professional Management. She previously worked for 14 years at Semmelweis University, where she is a private professor. In 2021, she obtained a DSc degree after defending her theses on „Examination of differential-diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive tissue biomarkers in lung cancer”. Her main research areas are: clinicopathological characteristics of brain metastasis in lung cancer, predictive factors of molecular targeted treatment and immunotherapy of lung cancer. Her first and last author publications were published, among others, in the Blood, Clinical Cancer Research, Lung Cancer, and Journal of Thoracic Oncology.

Orsolya Mózner

Orsolya Mózner holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in bioengineering, specializing in applied biotechnology, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Semmelweis University. With research experience in membrane proteins and COVID-related studies, Orsolya brings a diverse skillset and a passion for biotech research to the team. Having worked with Prof. Balázs Sarkadi at the Research Centre for Natural Sciences since her BSc studies, Orsolya is fully dedicated to the CelluVir mission. As the CEO, Orsolya is committed to leveraging her expertise, passion, and commitment to ensure the success of CelluVir Biotechnology.

Zelma Lemesánszky

CEO

Zelma Lemesánszky has a background in project management, having worked for leading multinational companies. She has experience in process automation and simplification. Zelma also has experience supporting the export development of the Hungarian health industry through her work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering Management from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. As CEO of the company, Zelma is dedicated to contributing her diverse skill set and passion for innovation and business development to help ensure the success of CelluVir Biotechnology.
